9th APIRIA ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE ON HEAD AND NECK IMAGING .

Department of Radiodiagnosis ,ASRAM Medical College, Eluru had an unique opportunity to host the 9th APIRIA ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE ON HEAD AND NECK IMAGING – which was organised by Andhra Pradesh state Indian Radiological Imaging Association on 16th April 2023.

Dr. S.Venkateshwara Rao , HOD & Professor of Dept. Radiodiagnosis ,ASRAM was the Organising Secretary of the conference. A total of 272 delegates where registered from across state of Andhra Pradesh attended the conference.

The Chief Guest Speakers were Dr. Anbarasu (Chairman of ICRI) Dr. C. Amarnath (Previous IRIA President) , Dr.Uma Devi . The conference focused on discussions relating to Head & Neck imaging such as HRCT Temporal Bone , Middle ear soft tissue – CT approach , Perineural spread of Head and neck cancers. Etc.

A total of 62 paper presentation where received from various delegates of which the 3rd place was won by Dr.B Lavanya 2nd year postgraduate of Dept Radiodiagnosis, ASRAM. The conference also included 115 poster presentation. A quiz session was conducted at the end of conference for postgraduates by Dr. Amarnath & Dr. Uma Maheshwar Reddy in which the 2nd place was won by Dr. Uma and Dr. Sowmya 3rd year Postgraduate of ASRAM. APMC 2 credit hours will be awarded to all delegates who had registered and attended the conference. The 9th APIRIA state conference 2023 provided a great opportunity to postgraduates for learning various aspects of Head and neck imaging.

Eluru is a city and the district headquarters of West Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the 14 municipal corporations in the state and the mandal headquarters of Eluru mandal in the Eluru revenue division. The city is on the Tammileru river. The city is well known for its wool-pile carpets and hand woven products. As of 2011 Census of India, the city had a population of 214,414. Its history dates back to the second century CE. It is part of Kalinga Kingdom and later it was the capital of Vengi Kingdom.

Eluru Municipal Corporation is the civic body of Eluru. It was first constituted as a municipality in 1866.[27] It was upgraded to Municipal Corporation on 9 April 2005 from selection grade municipality.[4] It is spread over an area of 14.50 km2 (5.60 sq mi) with 50 wards.[2] The present Municipal Commissioner of the city is Y.Sai Sreekanth and the Mayor is Shaik Noorjahan.[28] In 2015, as per the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' of the Ministry of Urban Development, Eluru Municipal Corporation was ranked 249th in the country.[29] Eluru urban agglomeration is spread over an area of 23.85 km2 (9.21 sq mi) and its constituents include Eluru municipal corporation, census towns of Sanivarapupeta, Satrampadu, Gavaravaram, Tangellamudi, and partly out growths of Komadavole, Eluru (rural) villages.[30][31]: 54  Law and order in Eluru is maintained with the help of eight police stations, which includes one woman and one traffic police station. These are under the jurisdiction of the 'Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate'.[32]
