ROOTS:-

Born into an agricultural family-to Sri G. Mastan Rao & Leelavathi of Tadepalli Village, Guntur district in 1954.

SCHOOLING :-

Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram district(1963-1968).

UNDERGRADUATION:

Completed MBBS from Guntur Medical College, Guntur(1971-1977).

SERVICE PARTICULARS:

Selected for Central services through UPSC examination during Internship & posted in Delhi as Chief Medical Officer, under Delhi administration (1978).

Appeared before the foreign delegation for interview and selected for foreign Government service as CMO & Surgical registrar to work in ADEN, PDR Yemen(1981-1991).

Returned to India to pursue Post graduation. Appeared for PG entrance examination & was selected. Completed M.D from Guntur Medical College, Guntur(1991-1994).

Appeared for APPSC and was selected to work as CAS in an UGPHC, Ipur, Guntur district.

Later opted for teaching & was surrendered to DME. Posted as Asst.professor of Microbiology at Guntur Medical College, Guntur. During my teaching career I have the opportunity to work in several other medical colleges across A.P (Kakatiya Medical College(KMC)- Warangal; Sri Venkateswara Medical College(SVIMS)- Tirupati; Siddhartha Medical College(SMC)- Vijayawada). Being an alumnus of Guntur Medical College, I got actively involved in several activities pertaining to improvement of infrastructure and equipment. Established good rapport with old students of GMC, both in India and abroad (GMCOSA & GMCANA) through my classmates and juniors. With the help of their financial contribution and a matching grant from Govt.- ‘a state of art Auditorium (GMCANA Auditorium) & Podila Prasad Super specialty block’ were constructed in GMC & GGH. These projects have materialized while I was the secretary of GMCANA trust & Vice-President of GMCOSA. As a faculty I had the privilege of working with several Principal (from 1994 to 2012) in developing our Alma Mater. I rendered service as Laison officer; College resource person; Zonal CME coordinator for Dr.NTRUHS; DFID coordinator; involved in several confidential works related to exams of Dr.NTRUHS and also took active part in APGDA & APMTA. After superannuation I took up an assignment in Katuri Medical College, Chinakondrupadu, Guntur Dt. as Addl. Principal and successfully faced PG recognition inspection by MCI.

In 2013, I got the opportunity to work in Dr. NTRUHS as Director (R&D). I worked for a little more than 3 years in this capacity and during this period, under the guidance of the then Vice Chancellor’s several reforms have been put in place in terms of Academics and Research viz: AHA certified BLS program; PG-CME’s; MET activities; Conduction of Post Graduate & Super Specialty entrance examinations; Post Doctoral fellowship programs; Professor Emeritus & Visiting professors program; Digitalization of Thesis work; Online examinations; Training to Teachers (T2T) Harward University training for faculty; Display of PG Thesis topics along with Abstracts on Dr.NTRUHS Website etc. All these activities have been actively pursued and taken care off.

Following bifurcation of the State into Telangana & A.P in 2014, the organization looking after the ‘Deceased donor Organ Transplantation program’ also got divided. Thus JEEVANDAN-AP has taken birth in 2015. Its office was located in the campus of Dr.NTRUHS and its chairman was the VC of Dr.NTRUHS. At that time on the behest of the then VC, I accepted the the additional responsibility as the Chief Transplant Coordinator. (later the designation was changed to CEO). I continued as CEO Jeevandan till 2018 and then relinquished the position. During my tenure as CEO I was able to increase the number of hospitals undertaking transplantation of various organs like Kidney, Liver & Heart from 11 to 33. The number of organs retrieved from ‘Deceased donors’ during my tenure was 204 Kidneys; 98 Livers; 34 Hearts and 42 Lungs.

After taking relief as Director (R&D) from Dr.NTRUHS, I joined NRI Institute of Medical Sciences, Sangivalasa, Visakhapatnam as Principal and got permanent recognition for MBBS course and Permisssion to start PG courses in that Institute. On 1st March 2018 I took up the present responsibility as Principal, ASRAMS, Eluru Thus life has given me ample opportunity to learn and experience- from my teachers, superiors & colleagues. I believe it is my good fortune which gave me experience in every possible service one can dream of. (Central service, Foreign service, State service, University service and now Private service).
