The Department of Community Medicine at ASRAM Medical College in one of the best and full fledged departments in the state of Andhra Pradesh with so many achievements under its credit.
Our Under graduate students excelled and stood top in the exams conducted by Dr.NTRUHS for so many times.
One of our UG students has achieved State First in the exams conducted by Dr.NTRUHS in the academic year 2016-2017
Our UG & PG students regularly participate and present scientific research papers in conferences at national and state levels. Some of them have even won the prizes also at various conferences recently.
Our students actively participate in Rallies conducted by the department on World AIDS Day, Health day, etc. They have participated in Quiz competitions on World Health Day for so many times.
Department of Community Medicine is successfully conducting various activities like Swasthya Vidya Vahini (SVV) and National Service Scheme (NSS). Our undergraduate students are actively participating in both Swasthya Vidya Vahini (SVV) and National Service Scheme (NSS).
Our undergraduate students participated in Master Training Programme on Breast Feeding and Menstrual Hygiene under NSS and MEPMA recently at Dr PSIMS & RF.
The department having four P.G. seats admission per year (M.D) got MCI reorganization in its first inspection itself in 2015. The first batch successfully passed out with 100 p.c result and serving the government & NGOs with their full capabilities.
The Department has conducted a Zonal CME on Research Methodology for PG Students recently.
The Department is conducting a continuous vaccination program of Hepatitis-B vaccination for all students and staff of ASRAMS. Vaccination camps also were conducted against chicken pox.
The department also organizes mandatory health check-up for all newly joined MBBS students their medical records are maintained and updated every year.
The Head of the Department has organized a Training program on Basic Life Support for West Godavari Police Department at the office of Superintendent. He was a facilitator at several training programs conducted at DM & HO office, i.e., MR Vaccination, AEFI, etc.
The HOD is one of the active participants in the activities conducted by the medical education department of the institute, giving lectures on various topics.

The Department is running UHTC at Venkatapuram, Eluru & RHTC at Kothuru successfully with an average op of 60 per day.
These centers are providing free pediatric & OBG services daily. Free lab tests & free drug delivery services are also being provided.
The CRIs are well trained by the faculty in field studies & research covering both the field practice areas of UHTC & RHTC.
