  • The Department of Pediatrics is lead by laureates in the field, consisting of 4 units headed by HOD, Professors ,Associate & Assistant professors who are highly qualified and dedicated, delivering uncompromised care to the children round the clock, through out the year.   • Being equipped with state of the art infrastructure including High frequency oscillators, Conventional ventilators, Bubble CPAP’s, HFNC, (High flow nasal cannula) Advanced Radiant warmers, multi para monitors catering 15 bedded NICU & 14 bedded PICU along with our team of Intensivists on their toes to take care of the Neonatal & Pediatric emergencies , made it the best tertiary care center in the West Godavari district.

  • Right from Surfactant administration to peritoneal dialysis & total body cooling, quality care is provided in association with super specialists.

  • Counseling station, breast feeding rooms, kangaroo mother care centers are present in adjunction with out patient departments, neonatal and pediatric ICU, wards.

  • The department of pediatrics runs on a motto to reduce neonatal mortality & under 5 mortality. Great emphasis is given to brain oriented resuscitation adopting latest neonatal resuscitation programme, thus reducing preventable morbidity. All the deliveries are attended by skilled health care team consisting of at least one pediatrician trained in advanced NRP.

  • Post natal wards are under continuous vigilance of doctors along with health care workers who encourage rooming in, council mothers regarding lactation, weaning, vaccination and family planning.

  • The outpatient department apart from treating children focuses on nutrition, growth and immunization. Various subspecialty clinics like pediatric cardiology, nephrology, asthma clinics, gastroenterology, and Thalassemia Clinic provide their extended support to the children in need.

  • The OPD works on par with emergency department in providing good follow up care to NICU graduates and children discharged from PICU/ wards.

  • Neurodevelopment clinic along with physiotherapy and early stimulation techniques adopted from Trivandrum development screening programme, complements the pediatric care provided by the institution.

  • BERA, OAE, ROP screening are done to all NICU graduates at free of cost with support from ENT, ophthalmology department and LV Prasad eye institute. The institute believes in the age old saying “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.”

  • Integrated with all government health programmes, the institute conducts medical camps promoting importance of nutrition, hygiene, physical and mental health, immunization along with awareness on HIV and other communicable diseases at various levels from schools to slums; PHC to UHC.
