About us :

ASRAM (Alluri Sitaramaraju Academy of Medical Sciences) was named after the famous patriot Alluri Sitaramaraju. ASRAM College of nursing is one of the prestigious educational institutions managed by ARE society, Eluru. The Chairman of the institute is Sri Gokaraju Gangaraju, a famous industrialist of Andhra Pradesh. Sri G Ramaraju is the Director of the ASRAM hospital and medical college. The college is located at the east end of the sprawling, 100 acres ASRAM campus. The campus is located adjacent to National Highway no.5. It is 3 km from Eluru Railway station and 35 km from Gannavaram (Vijayawada) airport.
The nursing school was established in the year 2003-04 with an input of 40 students for general nursing and midwifery programme. The following year basic B.Sc Nursing was started with 40 students in the first batch. At present the intake is 60 students for GNM and 100 for B.Sc (N). This year we are starting M.Sc (N) programme with 5 specialties namely Medical and Surgical, OB & GYN, Pediatrics, Community health and Psychiatry. The total intake will be 25, i.e. 5 students for each specialty.
All the above courses are recognized by Government of Andhra Pradesh, AP Nursing Council, Hyderabad & Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

ASRAM College of nursing is a premier institute in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is committed to provide best education to fulfill variety of needs in the education scenario. During the very short span, since its inception the institution has proved its worth by producing excellent results at the University examination.

All the courses run by our institute are recognized by Government of Andhra Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh Nursing council, Hyderabad & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

The management leaves no stone unturned in providing the academic facilities and we also ensure excellent career development opportunities for the staffs, which in turn reflect in the better performance of the students. The highly qualified faculty team with vast experience ignites the minds of the student community to explore the innate talent.

The institute has undertaken many co-curricular & extra curricular activities, to ensure the over all development of the students. The students of this institute gain tremendous practical training through attached super specialty hospital. In short, every effort is made to ensure that students perform successfully & work to their fullest potential in a highly competitive environment.


Infrastructure

The magnificent college building is built according to Indian Nursing Council (INC) norms. Nursing labs namely Fundamental, Medical and surgical, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, CHN, Nutrition and Computer labs are well equipped allowing the students to learn their procedures perfectly. Classrooms are spacious, well ventilated and well furnished with OHP, LCD projectors etc. The Gigantic library with wide ranging collection of books both on nursing and other fields acts as a storehouse of knowledge. All the students have easy access to library. The huge examination hall can easily provide seating arrangement for a whopping 200 students at single sitting.


Faculty

The faculty of ASRAM College of Nursing, whom we consider the backbone of our institution, possesses an inherent ability to inspire and ignite the minds of the student community to explore their innate talent. Well-qualified Professors and Asst. Professors, Lecturers, Tutors, Clinical Instructors and Administrators are committed and dedicated. They work tirelessly, and make themselves available at all times to teach, demonstrate, supervise, guide, and counsel the entire student body. They play an enormous role in preparing and transforming ordinary students into excellent nurses.


Clinical Exposure

ASRAM nursing college is attached to a 1000-bedded superspecialty ASRAM Hospital. This allows our students to have easy access to Clinical experience in various nursing departments like Cardiac, Renal, OB & GYNE, Pediatric, Trauma, Neurology, Medical, Surgical along with their ICUs and Orthopedic, Psychiatric, ENT, OT, Ophthalmic, NICU etc. Urban & Rural community health activities are conducted at villages adopted by ASRAM hospital.


Transport

A 40-seat college bus is available to transport the students from classroom to the field postings and other areas. Day scholars also can avail the bus services from home to college provided by ASRAM hospital at different intervals during the day.


Hostel

Hostel and boarding facilities are available for both boys and girls at reasonable fees. A new hostel was constructed for students with single / double tier bed system. Dining hall and an excellent mess are attached to cater to the diverse tastes of the students. The resident wardens provide personal care and attention. Dhobi facility and adequate washing area are also provided.
